FAQ

Q:  How does this work?

A:  The Beer Meter randomly chooses two beers from the Beer Index that have a label jpg, displays them, then logs your choice into a different database.

Q:  What's the point?

A:  Ultimately, it's just a bit of Internet Time Wasting Fun.  I will however use the results to form the brackets/entries for future March Madness of Beer events here at BeerTripper.com.  (In the 2010 March Madness of Beer, I essentially picked the starting beers at random, {which included bias}, then put them in the brackets based on their number of Google hits.  I'm hoping, that using the results from Beer Meter will be an improvement over that method.)  I will also have Beer Meter results constantly updated on a Stat page in the near future.  So, it's sort of a way for site visitors to give their opinions of different beers, without copying the very successful sites, Beer Advocate and Rate Beer

Q:  I'm not seeing all the beers that are currently in your Index.  What's up with that?

A:  I started adding label jpg information to the database beginning with the most recent beers added to the index and moving backwards in time.  So, eventually every beer in the beer Index will be represented (at least every beer that is not retired) but it will take time to enter them all.
