Off-Topic, Boba Fett

My Princess Leia page gets lots of hits, but I must admit my favorite Star Wars Character of all time was Boba Fett. Perhaps it was because when I first saw 'The Empire Strikes Back' I was pre-puberty (or bloody close to it anyway), but perhaps there is more to it than that. First off, I always loved his uniform. The reason for that are varied, first off, I thought it just looked good, secondly it had a beaten up appearance which made it seem like he had been in some serious combat and lastly it was unique. Unlike the Storm Troopers and most of the Rebel Alliance uniforms, as far as I knew, Boba Fett's uniform was one of kind.

Besides his imposing looks, the other thing that drew me to Boba Fett was the fact that he was actually in the movie so little and had so few lines. For me that made him a kind of mysterious lone wolf, which I suppose is something I wanted to be.

Boba Fett - Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back

If you're unfamiliar with Boba Fett,... and my guess is that if you are on this page, you already are familiar with Boba Fett, nevertheless, if you are unfamiliar with Boba Fett, he is/was a Bounty Hunter from the Star Wars Universe. His first appearance was in 'The Empire Strikes Back'. He also appeared in 'Return of the Jedi' and in the prequels was seen as a child in 'Attack of the Clones'.

Although he wasn't originally in 'Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope' he was added later during the 'Special Edition' version. I liked that addition to the 'Special Edition' however,... one of the other changes in the re-release pisses me off, no matter how many changes Lucas makes to the film, I'll always remember that, Han Shot First!

At any rate, in 'The Empire Strikes Back', Boba Fett tracks the Millennium Falcon to Cloud City, something The Empire for some reason could not do. Boba Fett wants and gets Han Solo's body (encased in carbonite) so as to collect the bounty on Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. In the movie 'Return of Jedi' Boba Fett is hanging out with Jabba the Hutt when Solo's friends attempt to rescue him from the carbonite and Jabba's palace,... I want to keep spoilers to a minimum, so that's enough about that. Anyway, you can see that his career in Star Wars was actually quite brief, but for me anyway, his impact was huge.

This next pick is definitely not from the movie, but it doesn't hurt my love for Boba Fett.
