How To Play

Beer Wars is dead simple to play. Basically it is like the old card game War where the highest card wins. The Computer will pick a beer, then show you four beers. Your task is to pick the beer that has a higher total value than the computer's beer.

The beer's values are computed using a combination of their BeerTripper Rating, their BeerMeter Win Percentage and How often their BeerTripper page has been hit over the last 30 days.  These values aren't displayed before your Beer choice is made, for obvious reasons, however once you click the button for your choice you will be shown both your beer's total value and the value for the Computer's beer.

(Each element makes up an equal share of the Beer's total value.  Items like the BeerTripper Rating and BeerMeter Win Percentage could be gleaned from the Beer Review page featuring that beer.  The 'how popular a beer page has been over the last 30 days' isn't currently visible, although one can see the top 34 beer pages visited over the last 30 days from the Periodic Chart of Beer Review Visits Last 30 Days page.  Which can help; for instance, one can usually see several beers from Shiner in the top 34, so those beers will probably have a higher Total score than you might think based on their Ratings alone.)

Note:  Not all beers at BeerTripper are included in Beer Wars.  The beers excluded include:

Beers listed as discontinued.
Beers that have a rating of NR (Not Rated)
Beers that have not yet had at least 9 BeerMeter Match-ups.
Beers that have never had a BeerMeter victory.
Beers that have no Alcohol concentration listed.
Beers that have less than 10 hits over the last 30 days.
