I don't normally 'review' places that don't have a real specialty beer interest, however Amarillo doesn't have much of a beer presence and this place was an excellent little restaurant. It's beer selection is limited to American Macro Lagers and Light Lagers with the only exceptions, I believe, being Shiner Bock and Dos Equis Amber. But the food, man the food is great. The French Fries were excellent. My Entree was the 'Burger from Hell', and the first bite was excellent, each subsequent bite was a bit less tasty as the one before, I imagine this was due to the hot spices burning my taste buds. But, it is a good burn, and a great burger. We also got the chips and queso which was good, so there wasn't a single item that we didn't like. I think their secret is simple, fresh food made from scratch when ordered. Of course, I'm not privy to their kitchen secrets, so that is purely a guess on my part.
It had a nice rustic Texas atmosphere that I enjoyed. It was very small though and quite frankly I would have stayed a little longer and had another beer if I hadn't noticed people lined up to get in. But strangely, despite the limited space, I was very comfortable there. The servers were very friendly, although possibly over worked. By the way, the prices are very reasonable.
