This is a Munich Helles Lager and the last time I had it, it was very good. Grainier and fuller than most American attempts at a Helles. I really liked it. Maybe a tad hoppier than other Munich Helles Lagers. I would have given it an 8, but I've had six packs of this before that were a bit skunky and lifeless, so I kicked it down a notch.

mjurney | Usually Munich Helles Lager is of my favorite style of beer. Lowenbrau Original is just your simple German style lager beer. Rich biscuity grainy malts with slight spiciness towards the finish. Crisp, yet very soft finish. Very nice beer!! Only wish the Americans mainstream beer could make better beer as good as the Germans. | 8 | |
