American Honor Declaration Ale
|
This American Amber Ale pours a rich coppery color. The taste skews bitter like an American Pale Ale. Maybe the most notable aspect to this ale is the finish which is remarkably sharp. (And probably makes this beer seem more bitter than it actually is.) Besides the aforementioned traits, I suppose it has the typical American Amber Ale flavors, namely caramel malt, albeit perhaps a little thin or masked by the sharp after-taste. There are definitely some citrus-y hops present as well, most noticeable in the finish for sure. The carbonation is medium, the mouth-feel medium skewing thin. I'd definitely like this better if the finish was toned down a bit as it is a pretty smooth beer, 'til the finish which smacks you a bit. The finish flavor also lingers a bit on the palate.
