Bayou Teche Biere LA 31 Biere Pale
|
In addition to hops, which you expect in an American Pale Ale, LA 31 Biere Pale actually has a decent caramel malt flavor as well. Don't get me wrong, hops dominate, but malt makes a pleasant appearance which I appreciate. The hops are citrus-y and pine-y. The beer in total is fairly smooth, but there is an astringency to the hops and what really brings this one down a bit for me is that bitterness lingers after each sip. It sort of sticks to the tongue and thus lasts well beyond each swallow; this is something I'm really not a fan of. The mouth-feel is medium, with perhaps a slight slickness; the carbonation is medium.
