Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale
|
Wow, I do not like this beer. A little surprising since I reviewed Pale Moon just about a week ago and thought it was fine. Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale on the other hand, has macro written all over it. There is a thin wheat-i-ness to the beer, but it competes with a dirty or adjunct-y flavor as well. There is also an essence of citrus, which I suppose is a good thing, but it hardly improves the aforementioned dirt/adjunct bonanza going on. In addition, it has the thin mouth-feel of a macro and even adds a slight slickness to boot. The carbonation is medium but skewing towards aggressive. Overall, this is a huge disappointment and I can't think of any reason to purchase again. I almost forgot, this is classified as an American Pale Wheat Ale, which isn't one of my favorite styles, but still, it's pretty easy to find better examples even if looking for a thin example of the style.
