This American Porter turned out to be kinda hard for me to review.  It has flavor, roasted maltiness, essence of vanilla there is even a woodiness.  All are flavors I would have said that I like, however ultimately, I did not like the way they came together in this beer.  It's hard for me to describe why, I guess the flavors didn't seem to come together smoothly for me.  Furthermore, one thing I can put my finger on, is that I thought there was a bit of a burnt flavor to the malt instead of just a roasted flavor.  So, there was this bit of astringency that lingered.
