According to BeerAdvocate this is classified as a Doppelbock. It's lighter in color than most Doppelbocks. Despite the lighter color (It's kind of copper in appearance) it's definitely malty. I'd say it's caramel malt, a lot of it. There seems to be a little fruitiness and there is definitely some sweetness. The mouth-feel is medium skewing towards full with light carbonation. The alcohol content is a whopping 11%, and it's not entirely hidden. That being said, the alcohol isn't too annoying and in fact this beer is relatively smooth. I definitely like it, after all it's smooth and malty. However, it is a bit much, a bit strong to be more specific and although it is tasty, it doesn't seem too complex. I don't mind uncomplex brews at all, especially when they are sessionable, but this is too strong to be a session beer, and a little strong considering its lack of complexity. But, that could just be a me problem. At any rate, it's definitely a good beer in my opinion especially so if you like caramel malt, just not a great one.
