Guinness 250

Man, this was a surprise. Every time I've tried Guinness Extra Stout, I've been seriously disappointed as I really dislike the taste. So, going into this, I assumed it would be just as bad, if not worse. But I was pleasantly surprised. Although this is classified as an Irish Dry Stout just like Guinness Extra Stout, the taste is definitely different. For me, the biggest difference is that Guinness 250 has far less bitterness than Guinness Extra Stout, which for my money is a good thing. Because the bitter and burnt flavors aren't front and center, it allows the dark roasted malt flavors to come through. It has a noticeably dry finish, which I don't mind, in fact it is kinda clean. My one real knock against it is that it has a light body, and over all the flavor seems to be on the thin side. This is a Guinness that is actually smooth though. I understand that this is a "Limited Release" beer, I seriously think Guinness should reconsider that and make this a permanent addition to it's line up.
