This Kölsch is definitely Kölsch-like, but somehow seems a little more, like a Kölsch on a gentle regimen of steroids.  There's definitely malt flavor present, but also an interesting combination of earthiness, grassiness and citrus with maybe even an essence of flower-i-ness.  So, it definitely has some flavors going on.  This brew is also basically balanced which is almost always a plus with me.  The mouth-feel is a strong medium with medium carbonation.  This is one of those beers that I actually think is better than I am rating it as there really is a lot of 'good' going on here; however for me, somehow the flavors don't always seem harmonious, in other-words, I wouldn't describe it as smooth.  If you made me put my finger on a more specific aspect I'd say maybe a little too earthy for such a light beer.  But, don't get me wrong, I do like this beer, quite a bit actually, I just don't love it, and perhaps in this case that's a me problem and not a Heiner Brau Kölsch problem.
