Lancaster Milk Stout

Holy moly this is a tasty little Milk / Sweet Stout.  It starts out with a very nice roasted maltiness which smoothly transitions to bitterness that balances but doesn't do much more than that.  It seems though as the glass gets more and more empty, the flavor does lean a bit more towards the bitter, but not so much that I can't call this a balanced brew.  The mouth-feel is medium to full, with that rather typical Milk Stout feel, almost a silky velvet-i-ness.  It is smooth with low carbonation and although I wouldn't say terribly complex, the flavor present is roasty and tasty enough that I really enjoy it.  There is an essence of coffee flavor there, but basically it is a straight-forward beer, however one of that is done so well, I look forward to having another.
