Lindemans Faro Lambic
|
This Faro is definitely sour and to a lesser extent sweet. Much like a Sweet Tart without any particular fruit flavor, just sour and sweet. The mouth-feel is medium to full, hard to pin down as the tartness really contracts the muscles in the back of my mouth. I believe this brew definitely isn't for everyone as it is so different than your average beer. But, if you like Sweet Tarts, and are in the mood to drink one, I'd give it a whirl as it is definitely got the whole Sweet and Sour thing going on. And actually, I like it, although, I certainly wouldn't want to session such a thing. Lambic's for me are a kind of once every blue moon delight, such is the case with Lindeman's Faro Lambic. I like it, but it's a bit much for every day drinking, for me anyway. By the way, in addition to the sweet and sour, there is an ever so slight funkiness, but as it seems in virtually all Lambics, it doesn't seem to take away from my enjoyment of the brew.
