Lomza Malt Liquor (Mocne)
|
This Euro Strong Lager is malty and noticeably sweet. Considering it has a 7.8% ethanol content, it hides it pretty well. It's smooth and has fairly high drinkability. The mouth-feel is basically full, although perhaps on the very low end of full. The carbonation is medium. I always say I like malty beers but this one, hmmm, the sweetness comes off as almost that sickly malt liquor-y type (I say almost because I don't think it actually crosses that line, but man, it seems to be awfully bloody close). In fact, I'd say the whole beer has a kind of Malt Liquor-y-ness to it. (Which shouldn't be surprising since it's a Euro Strong Lager, nevertheless, I'm not a big fan of that particular essence.) That all being said, it's a decent beer with a relatively full body. I suppose its downside, besides the aforementioned malt liquor-y essence, is that it certainly seems so simple and straightforward that I'm kind of getting bored a little. There may actually be a wee bit of peppery spice in there, but even that isn't raising this up in my eyes.
