Michelob Honey Lager
|
Classified as an American Amber Lager at Beer Advocate, I don't think I would have guessed that having tasted it. But, I can't really think of a better beer style to place it in, I would say Fruit / Vegetable beer, but I believe that Honey is neither Fruit nor Vegetable. I must say, I hate this beer. The problem for me I believe is honey. I've had beers with honey before, and didn't have even close to this kind of negative reaction to it. I think maybe in this case, the honey is unfermented, while the 'honey' I had in other beers was fermented. I could be wrong, on both ends, I just know that in Michelob Honey Lager the honey is Sweeeeeet, and not in a good way. For me, it basically completely ruins the beer. It's like drinking a cold mixture of honey and soda water with an essence of bitter hops. Obviously, if you love honey, or love really sweet beer, you'll maybe like this more than I. However, for me, this is the most vile substance that has hit my lips in a long, long time.
