Morimoto Black Obi Soba Ale
|
Upon my first sip of this Fruit / Vegetable Beer, I seemed to get an alcohol-i-ness, but the weird thing about that is this beer is only 4.80% alcohol. So, what's that about? Other than that, the flavor here is just a kind of muddled mixture of burnt malt (well diluted though, so it's not overpoweringly bitter) The mouth-feel definitely skews towards the thin while the carbonation is medium but skewing light. Overall, it 'tastes' kind of watery to me. Honestly, if you had given this to me in a glass and had me guess what beer it was, I'd probably say it was either a Bud, Miller or Coors attempt at an Irish Dry Stout. I don't really taste any 'fruit or veg', not that I'm complaining about that, I'm not really a fruit and veg beer guy. That being said, I'm not a watery beer guy either and especially not watery with a muddled burnt malt bitterness guy,... so, this beer is definitely not up my alley.
