North Coast Ruedrich's Red Seal Ale
|
This American Amber Ale has a nice full velvety mouth-feel with medium to light carbonation. Honestly, I liked the mouth-feel so much it may be worth drinking just for that. The flavor was caramel malt with some bitterness on the backend. Although I assume the bitterness is derived from hops, it almost had that burnt bitterness taste like you would get in say a stout. Although the rich caramel malt is generally the dominate flavor, the bitterness in the finish stays on the tongue, so ultimately it's the flavor that sticks the longest. Because of the stick-to-it-ness of that bitterness this beer also seems to get more bitter the longer you drink it. For me, that's a bit of a downer as my favorite part of the beer is its mouth-feel and caramel maltiness, not its bitterness.

Beer Tripper User Reviews of North Coast Ruedichs Red Seal Ale
mjurney | Starts off bready malts up front, mostly tosted-caramel along with citrus-floral hops. There some earthy toward the end of the palate. Dry finish and aftertaste. Medium bodied and carbonation. Very nice American Amber Ale. | 9 | |
