Pyramid Audacious Apricot Ale
|
As you might expect from the name, Pyramid Audacious Apricot Ale is a Fruit/Vegetable beer. In the interests of full disclosure I should mention that I'm not a big fan of fruit beers. If drinking purely for my own pleasure, the chances of me picking a fruit beer are slim and none. That being said, I like this beer. The Apricot is definite, but not overly sweet. There is a smooth sourness in the finish, which I think is actually a mixture of the apricot and hops which I find really pleasant. The mouth-feel is medium as is the carbonation. There isn't a real wheat or barley malt presence, but in a Fruit/Vegetable beer, I'm not sure if there is even supposed to be. At any rate, I don't seem to mind the missing malt presence as this beer is smooth with a nice, slightly sour finish. Of course, if you don't like apricots, you better pass.
