This American Amber Ale is rather strongly flavored for an Amber Ale. The caramel malt tastes almost roasted/toasted but the malt flavor gets trumped by the hops which impart a rather pronounced piney bitterness. (pronounced for an American Amber Ale) It almost tastes like a Vienna Lager (not that there's anything wrong with that). Although I wouldn't say it finishes clean, it certainly finishes cleaner than I was expecting given it's flavor which was hoppier and more bitter than I was expecting. There even seems to be an essence of fruitiness that comes through. Juggernaut has a medium to full mouth-feel and so overall I thought it was a decent little beer. Probably not what I'd grab when actually looking for an American Amber Ale, but when looking for something with a little more bite, I could see me getting this again.
