RJ Rockers' Bell Ringer
|
This American Strong Ale tastes nothing like any American Strong Ales that I've had in the past; perhaps the style is incorrect. Nevertheless, in this case, it probably works to this beer's advantage as it's much different than the hop bombs that you usually find in the American Strong Ale class. RJ Rockers Bell Ringer has a medium to full mouth-feel with medium carbonation that may lean towards the lighter side of medium. It's malty with a rich biscuity and earthy flavor then finishes with hops. It's really pretty well balanced and hides its 8.5% alcohol content very well. This actually tastes like an English made beer to me, but it's made in South Carolina. I suppose my one real complaint is that the bitterness in the finish would linger and as a result, although I loved my first sips of this beer, by the end, the lingering bitterness masked the malt to some degree. Still, I liked it. |
