Classified as an American Double / Imperial Stout at Beer Advocate.  This beer surprised me.  I went into it thinking it would be unconscionably bitter, but when it first hits your lips it is roasty and maybe slightly sweet plus I think it is a bit raisin-y?  It is also very smooth and although the finish was a tad bitter and dry, it wasn't to some absurd degree that caused me to dislike the beer.  The mouth-feel seemed a bit thin to me and the finish seemed to cling to my tongue so I would taste that burnt/bitter after-taste for quite some time after each sip.  The only cure, another sip.  Despite my admiration for this beer, this is one of those brews that I don't think I could drink more than one at a setting.  That doesn't effect my rating, but will effect frequency of purchase.
