Samuel Adams Imperial White
|
This Witbier definitely had a full mouth-feel. The flavor that first hits my tongue is a fruity sweetness, but it quickly gets blown out by the next flavor which I don't know if I can describe. It could simply be an alcohol dryness or more probably a combination of an alcohol dryness and a 'spice'. This 'spice' vaguely reminds me of what I taste in Samuel Adams Summer Ale. I didn't like it in Samuel Adams Summer Ale and 'like' it in Samuel Adams Imperial White even less. Normally beers with nice full mouth-feels get decent ratings from me, but in this particular case, since I dislike this 'spice' and / or alcohol-y-ness so little, I would much prefer that this be thinner so that not only would the flavor have been watered down but in all probability the flavors from this beer would have been washed out of my mouth sooner. |
