Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye Ale
|
Wow, it's delicious beer like this that makes me realize how much shiite I end up drinking most of the time. This stuff has a medium mouth-feel that definitely skews full, and a rich flavor. The carbonation is medium. Classified as a Rye Beer, the primary flavor is, ... Rye (Imagine that). At any rate, if you don't like Rye, you may not enjoy this near as much as I do, but I love the type of sour that Rye gives to a beer. In this case, it seems Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye Ale lets you savor the Rye without dumping in guano loads of hops as well. (Although, I must admit hops do mix well with Rye) The beer is smooth and easy drinking, but flavorful as well. I could session the hell out of this and easily prefer it to Samuel Adams Boston Lager, but that could possibly be a prejudice towards Rye. In any case, I love that the bitterness doesn't prevent you from enjoying the other flavors present and perhaps even enhances them. The one thing that kills me is that I've only seen it in a mix pack. I love mix packs, especially since I work on this website reviewing beers; but man, I hate it when a beer I like is Only available in a mix pack, with other beers I don't like near as much. Blood Hell.
