St. Peter's Cream Stout

I think that Stouts and I are just not on the same page.  For some reason Stouts to me seem like the Porter's shallow, bitter cousin.  That being said, this was a pretty good beer.  This Milk / Sweet Stout, for me, was rather unusual in that all the flavor seems to be in the finish.  The middle and beginning of each sip seemed to be almost devoid of taste.  Normally, I would probably really downgrade a beer for this, however in this case, the finish, oh man, the finish is packed with so much flavor it seems to last an extraordinarily long time.  More importantly to me the flavors in the finish were an enjoyable mixture of bitterness, roasted maltiness, a sourness and a woodiness.  Very smooth with a decent mouth-feel, always a plus with me when it is coupled with good flavor as well.
