Wild Blue Blueberry Lager

This Fruit/Vegetable Beer was definitely blue, in fact, upon pouring it looked like one of Lindemans flavored Lambics. Blueberry also shows up in the flavor. It's not the sweet and tart with a touch of funkiness though that you get in a Lambic. It's actually more of a Bud Light Lime in that it is a beer that seems to have blueberry flavoring added. That being said, I think I like it better than Bud Light Lime, but with these flavored beers, I think it may come down to how much you like the flavor that is added. Another difference between this and Bud Light Lime is that this has a rather hefty 8 percent alcohol content. When cold it does a fairly good job of hiding it, but as it warms, it does get a bit boozy, and for me anyway, brings the beer down a notch in enjoy-ability. Ironically though, it is the booziness that is the most beer-like quality of this 'beer' because without it, this beer is absolutely dominated by the blueberry flavor. The mouth-feel is on the thin side and the carbonation is high and fine. This one is a bit hard for me to rate, as when it was cold it was blueberry but certainly not bad, however as it warms it seems less like beer and more like blueberry juice mixed with everclear. My guess is blueberry lovers will like it, barley malt and hop lovers, not so much.
