When I went to Rahr and Son's they were offering their Oktoberfest beer, which I really enjoyed.  They basically open up the whole inside of the brewery during their Saturday "tour" and since the actual tour part is optional, it really kept the tour group small while the regular visitors could start drinking beer.  During the Optional tour of the Brewery, they take you around the different equipment and do a little show and tell.  I really enjoyed it. 

Update:  Rahr Brewery now have a Wednesday Tour as well from 5 - 7pm, called 'Brewer's Selection Night'.
