Day 46 OpenOffice.org Database

I needed to make a small database today.  I didn't find anything pre-installed to do that with, but maybe I just overlooked it.  So, I clicked Applications, Add/Remove and started looking for opensource database apps in the Ubuntu Repositories.  I didn't really find any except for OpenOffice.org's Database.  (But there are so many apps in the Ubuntu Repositories, once again, I could have over looked other options.)

Once OpenOffice.org Database was downloaded and installed, I opened it up and began using it. (Applications, Office, OpenOffice.org Database)  Now, I didn't do a lot, mainly I just made a table and started entering my data into it.  I was surprised at how easy it was to use.  I believe the reason for this is that it seems to be a clone of Microsoft Access, and I have a lot of previous experience with Access.  Therefore, I was able to make my table and fill it with data in no time.  The big advantage OpenOffice.org Database has over Microsoft Access, is that it was FREE.  I find FREE to be a big plus over paying cash, especially when my database needs are so comparatively small.
