Kate Botello
I loved Kate Botello on The Screen Savers.
Kate always seemed to have so much energy and always seemed to be smiling.
I'm reminded of a line from Spinal Tap, "There is a thin line between clever and
stupid." I say that because if nearly anyone else had been on the show
with that Air Kicking energy, I probably would have thought they were acting
stupid, but I thought Kate pulled it off. I think the same about her
outfits, she often seemed to wear 'themed' outfits, one day she was dressed like
a Russian Spy, the next like a French Painter. Few people could have
pulled that off, but I always thought that Kate did.

At some point, Kate left The Screen Savers and became the co-host of Extended Play with Adam Sessler. Although I really like Patrick Norton, I always thought the show took a bit of a dip after Kate left. Don't get me wrong, this was nothing like the Chasm the show fell off into after G4 purchased TechTV, but a little bit of the magic seemed to be gone nonetheless. I don't know why, perhaps I missed the chemistry between Kate and Leo, perhaps I missed Kate's energy, I don't really know. I do know that I didn't find that magic on Extended Play either. It's not that I didn't like Kate on Extended Play, I thought she did fine, but it just wasn't magical, like The Screen Savers was in it's Kate and Leo days.
You can still 'see' Kate at her website, katebotello.com.
